Profile[]
Appearance[]
Donna: Donna, otherwise known as "Gnome Owner" in-game files, is a Grey Canine with blue eyes, wearing a blue plaid button-up dress, salmon-pink pants, and blue shoes. She is often seen conversing with fellow employees outside of Telezoft.
Dark-Brown Owl: Dark-Brown Owl is a female employee that works at Telezoft. She can be seen holding a mug, and often talks to her fellow employees outside of her workplace. She is a brown owl with red eyes, wearing a green long-sleeved button-down dress shirt, with a white shirt underneath, a plaid dark-grey skirt, and blue shoes. Brown Cat: Brown Cat is a male employee that works at Telezoft. He is often found talking to fellow employees outside of his workplace. He is a brown cat that wears black glasses, a red collar dress shirt, grey dress pants, and black dress shoes.
Personality[]
Donna: Not much is known about Donna, outside of work-related stressors. She is typically either tired, exhausted, or worried about her job at Telezoft or the Ham Panther. Despite this, she appears to like hanging out with her work friends outside of their workplace, and when she eventually quits Telezoft, tries to find a good time to hang out with them.
Dark-Brown Owl and Brown Cat: Not much is known about these two, outside of work-related stressors. Due to Donna taking doing most of the talking between the group of friends, Owl and Cat don't have much screen time, but from what little dialogue they have, they appear to be supportive and friendly, but not confident enough / content enough with their work at Telezoft to not quit.
Background[]
When Mae Borowski was 9 years old, Donna used to babysit for Candy and Stan. At some point while Donna babysat her, her bird was accidentally killed by Mae using mace.
Prior to the start of the game, Donna, Dark-Brown Owl, and Brown Cat are all employed by Telezoft, and befriend one another. Donna starts to have issues with her job as a sales employee, and begins to look for another job.
Night in the Woods[]
The Telezoft Employees are a group of minor characters who are often seen standing in front of the building Telezoft is housed in. Although Mae can't interact with the three, she can eavesdrop on their conversations throughout the game.
At the start of the game, Donna, otherwise known as "Gnome Owner" in-game files, complains about Telezoft's working conditions to her fellow employees, and threatens to quit and work for the Ham Panther. The Brown Cat tries to gently convince her not to, although his words to little to sway her mind. during Harfest, the three can be seen throughout the parade, hanging out.
As the game goes on, Donna applies to Ham Panther, gets an interview, and eventually quits Telezoft after getting the job. The Owl and Cat support her decisions, and the three all promise to hang out outside of the workplace, although their schedules don't align.
In the epilogue, the three can be found standing outside of Telezoft, still figuring out when they'll have enough free time to hang out.
Trivia[]
- There appears to be cut content wherein a gnome, owned by Donna, is stolen by Gregg. You can find remnants of the cut content throughout the PlayStation Trailer.
- In the TownCenterEast.yarn files, the gnome cut content had Gregg asking Mae whether he should break the Gnome before they head to Donut Wolf. If Mae tells Gregg to keep the gnome, the gnome is described to be with the two at Donut Wolf, but if Mae tells Gregg to break it, then Gregg says he feels better after breaking the gnome.
- Despite not being mentioned by Donna herself, she appears to be related to Dmitry Gavriluk, a kickstarter backer character that was added into the games during the Weird Autmn update. This makes Donna the only character in Night in the Woods to be related to a kickstarter backed character.
- There is a file named Donna.yarn, that features entirely cut dialogue between Mae and Donna. Donna and Mae talk about their life in Possum Springs, how Donna used to be Mae's babysitter, and how they feel about their outfits. This dialogue appears to be a continuation of a previous conversation between the two, though said previous conversation is notably missing in the files.
