CJ, also known as CeeJay, is a Kickstarter Backer Character who appears in front Gregg and Angus' Apartment Complex in Act 2. He is based off of the Kickstarter backer CJtheOtter[1].

He is a tall and slightly chubby otter with a brown and cream face, a patch of brown fur at the top of his head. He's seen wearing a black sweater with a green DND-esque shirt, green pants and brown shoes. His right hand is in his black sweater.

CJ was in high school when Mae was in middle school and he used to play "nerd games" (pen and paper role-playing, as he later specifies) with his friend Tom Bramwell across the street from her house.
CJ has a husband, who is planning on joining him in Possum Springs, and his current profession is that of a lawyer.
Night in the Woods[]

In Act 2, CJ is seen standing in front of Gregg and Angus's Apartment Complex, just right of the second trolley entrance. CJ is visiting Possum Springs to see his parents, and is waiting for his husband to drive down the next day.
Mae's interaction with him has her asking CJ for "legal advice", although the questions themselves are more about breaking the law than anything. CJ answers the questions as best he can, however Mae doesn't care too much for the answers, and a back-and-forth happens between the two, on whether going to school for a law degree is even useful. It ends in silence between the two, followed by Mae apologizing, and quickly heading off.
